From here, feel free to explore our site.  Our goal is to provide useful and insightful information to keep our students, parents, staff and community informed about what our schools offer and areas to become involved.

Happy exploring.....

Registration is now  open at each school building between the hours of 7:30am and 2:30pm. Please bring your child's birth certificate and immunization records with you.

ThompsonOn behalf of our Board of Directors and staff, welcome to the Newport School District website.  We are honored to serve the families and patrons of our area.  We offer many great programs to help your child learn and develop into a responsible, contributing citizen.  We believe that every student should be challenged and supported throughout their educational career.  It is important that you know we want to be partners with you in this process and we welcome your active involvement in your child's education.

I would like to remind you to persuade your child to take advantage of all the wonderful programs that we have here in Newport.  Continue to encourage your student to do well in school, reinforce that homework is important, and always remind them that you care about their academic and social achievements.

Please know there is always an open invitation for parents and community members to become involved in our schools.  Cooperative teamwork is vital among our stakeholders; students, parents, teachers, support staff, and community members.  For this to happen, there must be an attitude of openness and mutual respect, honest listening and conversations, the readiness to change when necessary, and the willingness to compromise.

Newport School District is a fantastic size.  We are large enough to offer a variety of academic programs, yet small enough to get to know each child and family we serve.  Please do not hesitate to drop by, call my office (447-3167), or send me an email at thompsonjason@newport.wednet.edu .

Sincerely,

Jason Thompson
